Club Events

Runs and meetings
are the very heart and soul of any Club and BM Riders is no different.
Inevitably, during this Clubs first year, meetings of any sort other than on
the Forum, will be fairly minimal as, quite simply, we haven't had the time
to arrange them and we haven't had the volunteers to do so either but
hopefully, with your help this will change over the coming months and
years.
In
the early days, as
the BM Riders Club is intended to be a National or even International Club
for you BMW motorcycle enthusiasts out there, the locations of meets or
events will be limited but in due course, as and when the need arises, we
will look at appointing 'BM Riders Regional Co-ordinators' who will be there
to co-ordinate your efforts to put on meetings and/or events for the Club
and in this way, hopefully, we will eventually have a good and varied
selection of events for Club members to attend but this will take time so
please don't expect it to happen overnight......
To be an official
BM Riders Club event and be covered under the Club's liability insurance,
any event must be sanctioned by either the Club's Officers or, where
appropriate, your Regional co-ordinator - anything not sanctioned will not
be the responsibility of the Club. Should you wish to arrange a meeting with
a few friends via the Forum, that is fine but you must understand that
unless it has been sanctioned by the Club then it cannot be classed as a
Club event and therefore will not be covered for insurance purposes - if you
plan these meets in advance and request official status it will be better
for all of us and will help the Club to grow and expand in the direction
that you want. I know restrictions like this can be a real pain but in
today's litigious society we really cannot afford to be sued because someone
slipped on a banana skin that we didn't warn them was there............
Any International members are more than welcome to join the BM Riders Club and
should we get sufficient numbers, we'd be happy to look at setting up some
type of organisation with your help so that you can run your own official
Club events under our name although insurance issues in your area would need
to be considered. If you are in a country where there are sufficient
interested members and you feel you would like to actively participate and
contribute then please get in touch with us to discuss the possibilities.
Much of our Club
life will be conducted in the
Forum where there is already a pretty friendly
community building and it's likely that much of your contact with the Club
will be within those confines but there really is no substitute for spending
a weekend camping (or whatever does it for you) with a group of other
members and many lifelong friendships get forged that way so join in
whatever events you can and if you have the time consider arranging an event
of some sort for us.
