15th October -
18th October 2010 Places
currently available: 13
Confirmed Bookings: 11
As always we are using good quality cottages. Twenty four places are available. Cost is only £45 per person for this 3 night
event (Friday to Monday).
This year sees an alternative venue for the famous Killala
Cottages weekend although we'll, hopefully, be back at Killala for 2011. This
years venue is Ballyvaughan Holiday Cottages, Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare.
Formerly a fishing port, the harbour at Ballyvaughan is now
mainly used for pleasure craft and sporting activities and the village lies at
the edge of the Burren region on the Southern shore of Galway Bay. The cottages
are located in the centre of the village and are within walking distance of all
amenities including traditional singing pubs and excellent seafood restaurants.
As with Killala, these cottages are fully equipped and self contained and all
you need to bring is your own towel and yourself.....
This Rally makes a great break in relaxing surroundings with
some great company amidst the rural splendour and relaxed atmosphere that is
Southern Ireland. There is great scenery, great riding roads and a few great
Irish pubs in the village.....

We tend to pre-arrange very little for this
type of
event and most folk seem happy to just 'go with the flow' Most will take
ride-outs at some point, both to see the scenery, ride the roads, visit some
attraction or just find a local bar for soup and a roll.....
Saturday
evening
we hope to have a meal arranged for those that wish. Costs of the meal are not
included in the rally price and is optional but usually makes a good get together -
In practice, everyone tends to go but having it as an extra does give you the
option. Details of this will appear in due course. I'll need confirmed numbers by
the Friday at the latest.
The cottages are fully equipped and all you
need to bring are your own towels. Each house tends to do it's own catering with
folk getting together to cook and/or buy provisions so you won't particularly
need to cater for yourself just be willing to help out with whatever needs
doing..... All totally relaxed.
Travel - most folk tend to cross the Irish Sea
from Holyhead to Dunlaoghaire and usually a number of folk book
into the Travel Lodge at Holyhead the night before for the early sailing of the HSS
which makes for an easy start and a leisurely day to cover the distance to the
rally site along with various lunch and tea stops. Ferry times have
changed slightly (again) since last year and the early HSS now runs at 10.00am
which means not quite such an early start but also not quite such a leisurely
ride. We have a current Stena Line discount and you'll find details for that
within the Club area of the Forum
Cost is £45 per
person. We have three cottages available, there are a total of six
double rooms, three twin rooms and three twin rooms with bunks - single rooms are not available so if you are
coming alone you will be roomed with another person.
This means that there are only 24 places available on a 'First come, First
Served' basis so early booking and payment is highly recommended. So Book Now........ if you'd like
to attend this rally you need to get those bookings in now......
